We can look at the knowledge of the voice or the relationship with our voice from different perspectives. The voice as communication or self-expression tool, a resource or a channel to inner, emotional information. In music therapy, the voice often reveals subtle experiences that are not always easily accessible to our rational mind. For example, have you ever felt what shame, fear or guilt you have experienced sounds like? What might be the voice of control? What voice do you use to create a safe and resourceful space for you?
Through vocal psychotherapy we can meet our inner experiences, sometimes even put them on an audio recording, and when we step back we can experience more clarity, and when it is clearer it is calmer, freer and more authentic.
