The price of silence and the power of singing

Silence has its price. Many of us grew up in an environment where talking about feelings, especially sensitive experiences, was unacceptable. Silence became a form of security, a guarantee of acceptance by family or society, and eventually, a part of our personality. However, this is not a verdict, it is a truth that we can recognize about ourselves, push back against, and move toward growth and freedom. Finding your voice means restoring your authentic identity, allowing it to be heard.
In music therapy, the voice becomes a tool through which a person expresses their story through sound, vibration, breathing, improvisation, and song. When we dare to give voice to our experiences, they lose their power over us. Every story told or sung brings us closer to inner truth and psychological resilience.
By allowing ourselves to be heard, we reject the price of silence, oppressive feelings, anxiety, and confusion. Ignorance, which limits and stifles vitality, turns into inspiration to experience ourselves in a new way. Through our voice, we connect the past with the present and give meaning to experiences that have long been silenced.
What does your silent part look like?
Find a song that reflects it and sing it. Observe your body's reactions, let your voice flow freely. Mark the words and melodic phrases that move you. Ask yourself questions: whose voice is speaking through me? what emotions does this song reflect? what can it tell me?
When you feel that you have spent enough time with what you want to keep silent, rewrite the song in your own way. Create it from a place of calm and understanding. In this way, you will experience the power of the voice with your body.
Be courageous and inspired!
